“Let’s put your boots on, Angel.”
“We gonna go run around in the grass?” (One of her new favorite things to do…)
“Not quite…We’re gonna go play in the SNOW!”
“Uncle James, you come with me.”
Note that this is NOT a request.
“Grandmom! I runnin’! I runnin’ in the SNOW!”
“I ok.”
“Uncle James! I want you to help me UP!”
Lather. Rinse. Repeat. For one hour, or until your new friend is finished:
Sadly, by 3 pm, it was so warm that our New Friend had gone away…
And Sweet Cleo had decided we were all completely insane.

Now this is when I miss the snow!! Too cute…and that hat is adorable!!!!
I LOVE that hat…and so does she.
When she’s not sporting one of my hats, or her Uncle’s, that is!
Really great post, Marie! I can almost hear her giggles. Oh, how I know that look that Cleo is sporting! Max gives it to me at least once a day.
Oh, she did laugh out there! Cleo wanted to play at first, but got tired after the first 15 minutes. Angelface would have stayed out there all day!
Lovely little girl – and what fun! Bet she was tuckered out after having so much fun!
Thanks, Phyllis… I think Grandmom was more worn-out than she was. I forget every year how much harder it is to walk through deep snow – much less chase a two-year-old!
Love love love it! And you’re right about “uncle james do this” not being a request. He is her favorite person.
Without doubt.
I can live with that…
Wonderful fun, great pictures. She is adorable. I love to see her so happy. Tell James I’m glad he finally got in a picture.
Thanks, Mom…she’s a beauty.
Reminds me of Rachel at 2…”Why you say me NO?” (Mad Face)
Ah, so this is why you’ve been longing for snow, now I get it.
Most fun I’ve had in the snow in more than a decade!
I don´t know what made me laugh more, the super cute photos, the image of her falling down or Sweet Cleo´s face!
How absolutely precious! An Angel indeed
Don’t let those dimples fool you! Underneath, she’s a *real* two-year-old!
Thanks, Karista. Love today’s recipe…
Lovely Cleo *might* be right (all humans being pretty dubious when it comes to sanity), but let’s see *her* make an artful snowman and make the better-than-snow-angels of an Angel Face rolling around in the snow!
The best part is that after a morning romping in the snow, she’s decided that the kid might just be a worthy playmate. Up until then, she had her doubts.
That picture of her fallen in the snow is beautiful!!!!!!
Thanks, Gretchen – I love that new longer zoom more every day…
Delightful post. That lovely granddaughter is a special gift. Isn’t it great the way little ones find wonder in everyday happenings?
You know how I knew I was getting old? When I no longer enjoyed the snow!
Ronnie
The best thing is watching that discovery process, and the look of wonder on their little faces…
This was the best time I’ve had in the snow in years.
Welcome, Ronnie, and thanks for your comment.
I thought I had responded to this. It looks like so much fun playing in the snow. I want to do it as well.
I’d say come on over, but the snow is long-gone…and there’s little chance of more, at least for the moment.
I wish, maybe one day.
Yeah…24 hours on a plane doesn’t exactly appeal to me, either, never mind the cost.
But, you never know!
Did you make snow angels together too? She is adorable…BAM
I tried, Bobbi, but she just didn’t ‘get it’….maybe when she’s older.
I just had a thought…. has Angel Face ever seen a picture of herself? I’ll bet she would love those in the snow and with James. Let me know how that works out.
Of course she has seen them. She even knows where to put the memory card from the camera into the computer!
She’s MUCH more interested in pictures of Niko, though…
Wonderful. Those first photos with snow are special
Glad you like them, Claire…Wonder what she’d think of Alpine snow?
Oh, my goodness, e verywhere almost white snow… It’s been such a long time that I played with snow like that…
Beautiful, so beautiful photographs. Blessing her, she seems so lovely, I can imagine, it should be a great fun for her… Children usually love to play in the snow… Thank you dear Marie, have a nice week, with my love, nia
She did love it, Nia…and so did my son, for the first time in years.
Great photos! I miss Rhode Island. My parents used to drop me off in Wickford to live for a week every summer with my grandfather. Those were the days… Nice blog, btw…
Thanks, JJ…Wickford’s beautiful, but it’s nearly as bad as Newport in the summer now. I’ve lived up here for about 15 years, and wouldn’t dream of living back in the middle of the country.
Your blog is intriguing…
The photo of Angel after she fell down is priceless. And that hat! So cute.
Thanks, Robin…I wish I could find that hat in Big Girl sizes!
