December 29, 2012, 4 pm:
It started just after 2 pm, as a nasty rain/sleet/snow mix. At 4, it was all snow.
As I stood on the front porch enjoying the sight of lights in the snow, I heard little feet in the entry way behind me.
Someone was up from her nap.
The feet stopped abruptly, and there was a small gasp.
“Grandmom! What’s…That’s…IT’S SNOWING!”
Pants, Sweetie. Pants.
Too early to tell how much we have…I’m sure there will be more photos tomorrow!

Yes, yes, yes, it is a wonderful surprise for me, I love it. Thank you.
My first thought when it started was, “Leanne got her wish!”
(OK, it was second…right after, “Oh, God, I’m gonna have to play in the snow…”)
I was so happy when I saw your photos, I hope the play in the snow was fun.,
Wonderful!
Thanks, Cathy.
the lights in the snow : a taste of feast ! I like….Cheer !
In Paris,it’s the spring….with a lot of tourists
Indeed it is, Florence!
Happy New Year!
LOL! I get so excited by snow that sometimes I forget my pants, too.
Your lights look so pretty in the snow.
Hope you don’t make it out the door before you remember them!
Have fun!! Playing in the snow makes great memories. I wish you had the sled that still lives in my attic!!
That would be better going to Niko’s House – they get more snow than we do.
And they have hills
Oh that is a classic! ‘but I got the jacket on gramma!’ c
She wanted to make a snowman. Right. Then. With a quarter-inch of snow on the ground…
I got her to compromise with a snowball, from the porch. AFTER she put her pants on, that is
Have fun in the snow – it’s one of the few things that’s just so exciting there’s no time to get dressed properly!
Especially if you just woke up from a nap, and aren’t *quite* fully awake
She forgot her shoes too!
I guess that answers the nature/nurture question, eh?
Funny Angel! Your shots of the lights in the snow are lovely.
Thanks, Janine! She got a little snow-play time, but the wind was awful yesterday…
I love your snow photos! Heck, she does have her jacket on! Shoes not so much!

Who needs shoes – or pants, for that matter!
Ha, ha. That is pretty funny. I also can’t believe we got snow first.
I can’t believe it, either. You guys used-up your quota for the next decade, all at once!
I bet I know who is the angel in those “snow angels” you’ll make in the snow!
As a matter of fact, there are SEVERAL of those decorating the yard!
Ah pants are overrated when you are a child!
Hooray for twinkling lights with snow.
Eh, pants are overrated no matter how old you are!
Well, she was half dressed! Happy New Year to you all
At least she got her coat, right?
Happy New Year to you and Big Man, Tanya!
Ha! Classic! I miss the snow here the years it never comes even for an hour. Thankfully most years it does at least stop by.
And, Tthankfully, it’s gone before you have to spend an entire day shoveling, right?
Happy New Year, Allison!
Oh, Marie! That photo of your Angel is priceless.
You’ve got about the same amount of snow that we’ve had. It’s only a matter of time, I’m afraid, before I’ll be out there with the snowblower.
It was nearly a tearful moment, when I said No…
I love snow and all the excitement it can bring in little ones :-!
Makes even the shoveling part easier to take
