Watching the World Wake Up

A peaceful April morning…

Still cold at night. The fog has frozen to every available surface.

The sun rises a little after 6 this time of year. A clear morning like this one usually means a warm(ish) afternoon.

As it rises and touches the ice, the beautiful patterns are revealed. Moments later, they will dissolve…

As the sun floats higher in the sky, the frosty grass glitters with diamonds…

And the mist rises, wraithlike, from the pond.

Time to finish the coffee, and begin the day.

A little bird told me so…
