The pond isn’t the only beauty to be found in my overgrown back field…

On a bright, cool day beneath the trees, it’s a bit like being inside a kaleidoscope…

Or a church with massive stained-glass windows.

Some are tinged with color; a hint of what’s to come.

Others are in their full-blown glory.

I love this time of year.

The 4 O’Clock:

Bright and cool, with a soft breeze.

Where’s the dog?

I have a feeling it was a Sunny Spot when she got there.

  1. The autumn leaves look beautiful against a blue sky. We have a cat who we suspect has some labrador in his DNA – he falls asleep on the patio lying in just the way your dog does!

  2. Me too, I like this season : we understand why the nature has to die every end of year, to be so beautiful every year at this period !……

  3. These last two days posts have been your best πŸ™‚ I have been following for awhile (lurking), had to comment today. Felt like I was being drawn down that path. Does Angel know about the blueberry bushes next door yet – she is going to love this adventure!! Laura

    • Thanks, Laura – I’m glad you’re here!
She doesn’t know about the bushes at the back yet, but she ate every berry off the ones down by the pond last July. I just hope they’re tasty fruit – Hubby says he didn’t plant them, so they’ve come up volunteer. Could be good, could be bird food… πŸ˜‰

  4. Around here, this last week has been quite beautiful. I’ve had more than the normal number of errands to run and the streets have a beautiful canopy of colors. “Kaleidoscope” is a great way to describe the effect. Surprisingly, though, a few trees are already completely devoid of leaves and I avoid looking at them. Out of sight, out of mind works for me, at least for another few weeks.

    • Some just lose the leaves early…the willows and black walnuts are bare, and the big maple at the back is halfway there. Fingers crossed we don’t get monster winds any time soon – I want this to last as long as possible!
