Good for you! It’s minus 26ΒΊC here (before windchill). Did you have to go outside, or is this shot through a window? E.g. has driven over to the West Side of town to get a, er, morning shot (not quite sunrise, as she left home on the dot of eight).
Greet the dawn of the New Year, and have a good one!
We were 26 the other side of zero yesterday…and yes, I was outside, just before 7. If the Rufus Dog could have waited to walk just a few more minutes, the shot would have been spectacular! He’s much too strong for me to be fumbling with a camera and his leash at the same time…
Happy New Year to you, EG, and the pups!
There are traditions we follow out of a sense of duty, for lack of a better term. There are traditions we encounter that we enjoy. And them there are traditions we follow because we enjoy them. This is one of the latter and such a nice one, at that.
Wishing you and your family a wonderful New Year, Marie.
The camera and I have barely been speaking lately, but I’ve been doing this for nearly 10 years now and wasn’t about to quit π
Happy New Year, John…enjoy your ‘vacation’
I love that tradition, I might do it next year if I remember, I am certainly up early enough.
Happy New Year Marie, all the best for the coming year again.
It’s much easier to get up and photograph the sunrise than STAY up and try to get the fireworks…which for me would also require going into town on New Year’s Eve π
Happiest of New Years, Leanne!
It used to be an Easy Thing, that early shot…this year (since the Invasion of the Grandchildren) it was a moment to breathe before plunging back in to the water π
Happy New Year, Kerry!
Wish I could have stayed out there just a few more minutes, the sky caught fire right after! But, there were dogs to be walked and Small People to feed…
Happy New Year, Robin – enjoy that kitchen!
Wonderful, glorious and hopefully it was one ofr those precious alone moments that we so look forward to when we have little children.. happy new year my friend.. c
A lovely photo and a great tradition to follow!! Hmm, and the person taking it sure has had at least a reasonably sober NYE π ! My beloved Dad well taught me to rise early on New Year’s Day and put in a full day’s work, as all the year following would be as productive!!!! I actually still do it!!!
The Person who took the photo was happy she made it to 10pm on New Year’s Eve…it should be noted that her Own Daughter only made it to 9 π
I like your Dad’s tradition…it’s going to be a productive year, for sure!
Happy New Year to you and yours, Eha!
Beautiful and all good wishes to you and your loved ones!
Thanks, Tanya! All the best to you and Big Man for the coming year!
